How to Prepare for Potentially Dangerous Home Situations
I have been speaking with a lot of home owners about the security in their home. I am trying to acquire some insight on the different ways that our homes become at risk. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever witnessed suspicious activity at their house. It could be robbery, broken windows, a suspicious person – anything really. I was surprised that almost everybody had a story to tell me. Many of their experiences eventually led them to purchase a burglar alarm. I have heard that Security in Lake Forest is the option many have decided on.
One individual said that he was home for the afternoon one day, but then left to pick his little boy up from soccer practice. When they got back approximately 10 minutes later, one of the windows on their house was shattered and things were missing from inside. He thought he was being watched, and the thief knew when he left. Another mother of three explained that she opened the door for someone who said they were a salesman. After the man pitched his sale, he then asked if he could come inside to talk it over with her. She said no thank you, and he again replied by asking if he could at least come inside to use her telephone. Since the guy was being so persistent, she again declined and closed the door.
All of us have had our encounters with suspicious situations and people. Some are worse than others, like the first man’s experience. The information I am trying to figure out will help me determine what encourages people to purchase a security system. The woman said she opted to get one the very next day.
I have heard a lot of similar stories from other people. We never really know what might happen on a given day. I am confident these people did not wake up that morning and think something out of the ordinary would happen later that day. It really stresses the value in always being proactive.
